POS Standalone Offline Mode

Close ALL Striven programs so that you are all the way back to your Windows desktop.

Ensure that there are also no programs running on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

Right Click on the blue Client Processor icon down the bottom right of your screen near the clock.

Left Click on Switch to Standalone mode.

NOTE: If the option is faded out (like below) then it means that you still have some Striven programs running.  Please close them down, or reboot if necessary and then try again.

After a few moments the Client Processor icon will change to be a Yellow icon if successful to indicate that it is now running Standalone.

Now go back into Striven and log in as normal. Only the Standalone functions will be available.

To check you are in Standalone mode look at the top of each Striven window and it will say “Standalone”

All non-POS Workstations (i.e. all Back Office Machines) should be turned off. If they must be left on then ALL Striven programs including the Client Processor must be exited and not running for the duration. They must not be restarted (or turned back on) until the server has been put right.

Getting the POS online after offline mode.

Restart each of the computers that are in Standalone mode

After the Workstation restarts, it will come up with the following message. Select Yes and then login as normal.

ERROR: Client Processor cannot communicate normally with the server.

If at any time the Client Processor runs with a Red Cross:

Reboot one affected workstation and check if the issue is resolved.

Check that the Server Processor is running normally on the Server (with the bouncing ball), if necessary you may restart just the Server Processor

IMPORTANT: Do not restart the the server itself!
