HOW TO Purge (unused) Stock

This will describe how to Purge (Delete) any stock items that have not been Sold in the Last FIVE YEARS, and also has a stock On Hand of ZERO.

ALWAYS Run this process as a Report first, to review and ensure you do not delete any Stock you do not want to actually delete.

THIS PROCESS IS PERMANENT.

ANY STOCK THAT IS PURGED CANNOT BE RECOVERED.

From the Striven Menu; Go to Utilities, then Purge (or type “purge” in the search box).

This will open the following:

Enter the “Delete if last sold date is before” as the Date from Five years ago.

Tip: entering “y-5” will enter today’s date exactly 5 years ago.

Change the “On Hand Options” to be Purge ONLY if On Hand is ZERO

In the Report Options section at the bottom:

  • change Show “Error” details to NO, and change Show Only Purged Lines to YES

Ensure that there is NOT A TICK in “Delete Items” - until you have Run the Purge as a Report first and ensured that the correct Stock Lines will be deleted.

Once it has been run as a Report, it can be re-run with the same options, but with a Tick in “Delete Items”

Ensure that there are no Filters displayed, and use “F4-Set Range” to remove any Filters as needed.
