Tyro PinPad Setup Instructions

This document is a step-by-step guide to setup Tyro PinPad. Tyro setup should be done by the Tyro representative but if they have not installed it then follow the below steps.

Confirm if you have Merchant ID & Terminal ID provided by tyro

Note: The store can find this info on the PinPad as well.

Prerequisites: 

Check if the .Net 2.0 is installed on the machine if not go to Turn Windows Features On or Off


Check the below tick and install it.

Note: If you find it difficult to run Step 2 contact Striven IT Team.

Tyro Installer:

Go to Tyro Website or search on google Tyro Installer and Install the tyro Installer or Follow the link below

Once installed go to Control Panel and Search for Tyro

Double Click on it to open the Tyro Terminal Adapter 

Key in Merchant ID & Terminal ID from the PinPad

Tyro PinPad

Before we pair the PinPad with the workstation we need to check the settings on the pinpad.

On your Tyro EFTPOS machine you need to get to the Pair with POS menu 

  1. Press the Menu button
  2. Select Configuration and enter your admin password – if you don’t know this press Help on the machine and it will prompt you through recovering the passwords
  3. Select Integrated EFTPOS
  4. Select Pair with POS

On the TTA make sure the Default Merchant ID and Default Terminal ID fields match with what is showing on the Pair with POS screen

Note:
Click Save & Pair first on the Tyro Terminal Adapter first then within a few seconds on the EFTPOS machine by following step 4.

If it fails for any reason contact Tyro.

Status while Pairing

Status when Paired.

Once the PinPad is successfully Paired then log in to Striven and go to POS Settings and do the below settings

Go to POS & Test if it is pointing to PinPad when you Press E for Eftpos on Striven.
