VII Gift Cards

Striven has the ability to load and redeem IHG Vii Gift Cards.
These new gift cards don't have the magnetic strip that are used in EFTPOS pin-pads, they are charged and redeemed via internet calls to the IHG (Vii) servers.
Loading / Selling a Physical Vii Gift Card
There are 3 different types of Vii Gift Cards available.

Each type of Gift Card has a unique barcode which is assigned to three different Stock Items.

| 1 | In Point Of Sale, the POS operator scans the barcode on the back of the gift card box. This is the barcode on the top right corner of the packaging (1). |

| 2 | Striven will prompt with the Voucher Entry window to scan the gift card barcode. The POS operator now scans the barcode on the Gift Card (in the window at the bottom of the packaging - (2) above). This is the “Voucher Number”. |

| 3 | If the barcode scanned in POS was one of the Fixed Value Gift Cards ($50/$100) it will load the Fixed Value into the prompt and the Voucher Amount can not be changed. | |
| 4 | If the barcode scanned in POS was the Variable Value Gift Card, the prompt will allow the user to enter the Voucher Amount to Load onto the Gift Card (default is the minimum of $10). The variable Voucher Amount can be any value between $10 and $1000 (any value entered outside this range will display an error and adjust the Voucher Amount accordingly). |

| 5 | Name, Phone and Address are optional, and one or more of these fields can be entered as needed or left blank. |

| 6 | Press F9 (or click the F9-Save button) to Save the Gift Card information entered. | |
| 7 | Operator to write the “Date of Issue” on the back of each card (in the window on the Gift Card box). |

| 8 | The POS operator can add other Stock Items into the sale if required or other gift cards (Maximum of 5 Gift Cards per Transaction). |
|
| 9 | Finalise the Sale like normal by pressing F9-Save. |
|
| 10 | Tender the sale however the customer wishes to pay for the Gift Card(s) and possible goods. (The Gift Card(s) can also be put on Account) |
|
| 11 | Provide the customer a receipt for this purchase with confirmation that the Gift Card(s) has been loaded. |

Activating a Physical Vii Gift Card
The Gift Cards will normally be activated immediately, but there are times when the Vii Gift Card server is unavailable. If this is the case, the Striven docket will show:
“Gift Card will be activated in approx. 4 hours”
Behind the scenes Striven will continue trying to link to the Vii Gift Card servers.
If the card hasn't been activated by the end of day, a listing of inactivated Gift Cards will be shown on the Day Book Report for you to review.
Redeeming an eGift Card or Physical Vii Gift Card
If a customer purchases some items, and has a Vii Gift Card, then you can redeem the value of the gift card by selecting Vii Gift Card tender on your tender screen.

| 1 | On the POS tender window, select Vii Gift Card |

| 2 | You will be prompted to scan the bar-code on the Gift Card (or on your Phone) |

| 3 | You will then be prompted to Enter the PIN |

| 4 | When the tender has saved, it will check that there is enough dollars on that gift card. It will return the Balance remaining on the Gift Card if it is less than the amount to Pay, updating the Gift Card Payment amount accordingly. If not, then the customer will have to pay the remainder by Cash / EFTPOS or other payment method. |

Crediting a Gift Card
Crediting a Sale paid for by eGift Card or a Physical Vii Gift Card
If a customer returns items that had been paid for by redeeming an eGift Card or Physical Vii Gift Card, Crediting the Sale it was Tendered in will Credit the amount back onto the Gift Card that was used.
The Refund Tender DEFAULTS to the Tender used to pay for the goods being returned (e.g. eGift Card); however the Refund Tender can be changed to any other valid Tender if desired (e.g. Cash or EFTPOS)
Crediting/Cancelling a Physical Vii Gift Card Sold
If the Sale of a Physical Vii Gift Card is Credited, the Gift Card will be Cancelled/Voided and the Payment Tender Refunded.
