How To Setup Selling Roll and Metre Products

Follow these steps for products that you PURCHASE as a ROLL, but need the ability to SELL it either by the METRE or the ROLL.
The end result will mean that POS will show you this search screen if you scan or search for the product.
It is essential that you have the product setup to be same as your SUPPLIER/WAREHOUSE otherwise you will have costings and price issues down the track. For example: if the SUPPLIER sells the item by the ROLL, it is essential you set the product at your store to be setup as a ROLL (with Sell and Purchase Units as 1). Then setup a Bundle item which will allow you to sell the items either as a ROLL or by the METRE
Example
In the following example, the store purchases this item from the Warehouse as a ROLL, so the product needs to be setup as a ROLL in the store. This is the product that is used to ordering. You need to ensure you match what your Supplier has setup in your system.
In this example, the Conversion Factor is 1, so you need to ensure that the Sales and Purchase Units in your store is 1 as well.
The same product in Striven, needs to have the Sales and Purchase Units set to 1 and 1 as well.
Creating A Roll Bundle From A Bundled Item
Follow these steps to create the “Bundle” item that is used to allow you to sell this item as a METRE or ROLL product.

| 1 | Open up Stock Entry and Enter in Stock item |

| 2 | Once Stock item has been entered Press Shift+F5 and select Option C (Copy Current Record) |

| 3 | Once the Stock item has been copied it will automatically create a new stock code.
You will need to Change the Type to Bundle Non Stocked and the Description with 1 m changing it from 50 plus add PER METRE at the end of the description |

| 4 | Change the Sales and Purchase unit in the example which is 1.00 MT (Metre) |

| 5 | Next click on the Bundles tab and add the original stock item which was copied into the Base Item Stock code. Add the value to the QTY of Base Stock (SU) In this example it would be 150 which = 0.02 1 which equals to PER METRE 50 which is the total of the Roll Click F9 Save |

| 6 | Once Saved, this warning will appear and click OK to continue |

| 7 | Go Back to the Original stock item which was copied and change Sales and Purchase units to 1.00 RL (ROLL). Click F9 Save |
