Truck Tracker Deliveries

This document will go over:

  1. The processes to link Striven to the IHG Truck Tracker DMS (Delivery Management System).

  2. The basic functionality of the Delivery Tracking System in Striven.

Set up Google Maps in Striven.

Go to System Manager → System Configuration → Enter User System Settings.

Open Google Places TAB.

Change Enable Google Place Search to YES.

F9-Save.

If there is a message displayed "GPS Location missing for branches: ..." then follow the Instructions in Step 2.

Check that the GPS Co-ordinates for the Branch(es) you will be sending freight from are set, in Striven.

Go to System → Entry → Enter Branches.

Open Addresses TAB.

The GPS Co-ordinates should be filled as follows:

NOTE: If the GPS Co-ordinates for the Branch Address are blank, then the Address should be re-entered.

  • now that Google Maps is configured, it will automatically populate this information.

Go to System Manager → Delivery Tracking → Delivery Settings.

Change the Tracking Type to IHG Truck Tracker

Change the POS Status to Active.

Change the Directory to S:\WE\Updates\IHG\Delivery.

Enter a Store Number and Password

Host Name can be left Blank.

Username only needs to be entered if it is not the same as the Store Number - otherwise leave Blank.

Use the same Store Number and Password that is used for the SFTP Username/Password

Functionality

When creating a Customer Order or Invoice in POS, press F10-Details to display the following options:

Select 'A'- Delivery details to display the following form:

Ensure that Delivery Mode is set to “Deliver”.

Enter the mandatory fields for Delivery:

  • First Name and Last Name

  • Phone Number

  • Deliver to Address

All of the above (and Email Address) will be filled-in from the Debtor Account if they exist (but can be changed).

Delivery Instructions can also be added on the right-hand side.

 

*NOTE* The Delivery information can be updated on any Modification of the Order

When finalising/Saving an Invoice or Invoicing/Taking goods from a Customer Order, the following prompt is displayed:

Select 'B' - Delivered to finalise the Invoiced goods for Delivery.

The Delivery Details previously filled-in will appear, with the Information previously entered.

Leave the information as-is or change anything as required.

The Delivery GPS Location is automatically populated based off of the Delivery Address and should not normally be changed.

(It could be changed if the Delivery Address is a new development and does not yet have Street Number or Name)

 

There is now also the options for Delivery Date/Times in the bottom-left.

  • Pickup is the earliest date/time that the goods can be picked-up by the Driver for Delivery

  • Earliest Drop Off is the Earliest possible Date/Time that the goods will be delivered to the Customer

  • Latest Drop Off is the Latest Date/Time that the goods will be delivered to the Customer

The Earliest and Latest Drop Off Date/Times give the Customer an Expected window to expect Delivery.
