To STOP users from going under a GP%, put that GP in the Minimum profit % Sales STOP Level.

Discount Reasons

Many stores don't realise how much discount they are giving away each day.

You should prompt for “Discount Reasons” each time a discount is overridden to protect your stores profit or lock your POS users from changing prices at POS unless a Supervisor password has been entered.

Here is a sample list of Discount Reasons, but you can add or change these by following this document.

These reasons are shown in the Day Book Report - Exception Reports - Discount Reason Report

You can run this report which is an option in the Day Book report.

Below Minimum GP% Report

Run the Below Minimum GP% Report by following these steps.

Allow Discounts setting on Stock items

If you want to ensure that users dont give a discount on price sensitive lines you could set the Allow Discount flag to No on those items.

If the discount or price has changed in POS, the following warning is displayed. Which can only be overridden by a Supervisor.

Refer to the security document for details on how to set security for particular users.
